ADJUSTING YOUR WARDROBE FROM SUMMER TO AUTUMN

Now that the morning's are a little fresher and the evenings are becoming a bit more nippy, it's time to start thinking about wrapping up a bit warmer. Yet I'm sure, like most, you're not ready to box away your Summer clothes just yet. So I thought I'd show you a few ways in which the high street is adapting the Summer styles into Autumn warmth whilst keeping your festival side happy! Firstly, let's start with the Summer staples - the cami top, the kimono and the block-heeled sandal. Cami's can be worn all year round, but for the Autumn/Winter months the high street will start offering them in deeper colors such as moss green and navy, and add embellishment such as sequins and beading to add a more 'gothic glam' look - perfect for Christmas! Personally one of my favorites - the kimono - is becoming thicker in knit and darker in blacks and greys to give your laid-back look a touch of warmth. I'm sure you've seen them on the feet of everyone, from jelly to white leather, the block strappy sandal has been huge this Summer. Now with the sun still poking through the clouds and that bright nail varnish still looking fresh on your toenails, you're not quite ready to hide your feet away for Winter just yet. So pick up a pair of the treasured style in black or nude with extra strap detail to keep your feet warm and still looking pretty. Mesh has been a popular fabric this Summer, so keep the textures going with the mesh t-shirt dresses that are widely popular on the high street. It just swaps your poolside bikini for a t-shirt dress under layer so you can wear it right through till the new year. One of your favorite aspects of Summer fashion may be the fun prints that seem to splash over every garment! If so, check out the jazzy aztec being printed on slouchy trousers, kimonos and playsuits - the color palettes will become deeper and more earthy but they are a great way to spruce up your outfit! Adjusting to the ever-changing English weather is always going to be a trick never to be mastered, however with the temperatures dropping there are several ways to keep your legs covered in style! Your MOM jeans will be more widely available in black and dark blue denims (but you may want to rethink the rips), the jogger is getting a refresh in silky nude fabrics and the skort is being exchanged for trousers in bright coloured crepe. Of course soon enough you'll want to keep your arms covered too, so light-weight coats are now available in smile-worthy bright Summer colors and fun prints. I hope this article helped you found some insight into Autumn fashion for 2014, and that it keeps your eyes open and minds optimistic that Summer isn't quite over for us - yet we're ready to welcome in the cold weather with great style!
