We were set the task to create a brand book for any fashion or retail brand. Due to it's individuality, creativity, illustrative advertising and unique products, I chose Urban Outfitters.

I threw myself into the imaginative graphics, spending a lot of time of Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator and even hand-drawing some illustrations and scanning them in.

Creating a brand book is like creating an outline or overview for the brand. Anyone should be able to pick up the brand book and understand the brands values, personality, essence, marketing, products, advertising, competitors and presence. Details must be given about the logos and promotional material so that advertisers or illustrators can create new campaigns. An interesting note about UO is that it changes it campaign every 6 months, and often it is hand drawn by illustrators, even hand painted onto store windows.

UO is not just a fashion brand - it offers an eclectic lifestyle that was first aimed at students who 'have their parents money to spend at university'.

I loved creating the brand book and feel that I holistically combined the Urban Outfitters image and personality - which was reflected in me getting a 1st!!
